A New Year Gala to Send Warmth and Spread Good Cheers by Guan Yin Citta Tokyo

The end-of-year holiday season is a time to celebrate the hard work and the year’s successes. To sincerely appreciate the support from Buddhist friends and local communities, Guan Yin Citta Tokyo held a grand gala at Higashi-Ojima on December 27, 2018 from 18:30 pm to 21:00pm. It attracted over 200 people and offered one of the best platforms to bring the Buddhist teachings to life.

During the past 3 years, under the blessings from Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Jun Hong Lu, Guan Yin Citta Tokyo has been serving Buddhist friends and local communities with love and compassion. Many people facing hardships and immense struggles ultimately went through tough times by applying Buddhist wisdom to their own lives.

The past 2018 was another productive year for the Guan Yin Citta Tokyo. The Buddhist Practice Center faced challenges in many areas of the work. But thanks to the steadfast support of all the Buddhist friends and volunteers, Guan Yin Citta Tokyo keeps thriving and has made concrete achievements. More and more new Buddhist friends are engaged in the Buddhist practice and learning Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings. A brand new Buddhist Practice Center grandly opened in Nagoya on October 27th, 2018. Several large scale free vegetarian food tasting events and life liberation activities were organized and boosted the sphere of influence of Guan Yin Citta in Tokyo.

The spectacular gala show was prepared and presented by volunteers from Guan Yin Citta.  Series of spectacular performances amazed the audience, including singing, dancing, reading, and Tai Chi performances. Some Buddhist friends shared their touching stories about how they faced life hardships and come out stronger and wiser by learning Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings. Their heartfelt stories touched many people and inspired them to focus on the core values of Buddhism.

In addition to the excellent presentation, music, and food, the guests were able to participate in a giveaway drawing session. Some lucky attendees received beautiful gifts from the free giveaway. They had a wonderful time watching the shows and tasting delicious vegetarian food for free.

Last year has come and gone, the Guan Yin Citta Tokyo is looking forward to a new year that brings new challenges and opportunities. Happy and Prosperous New Year!

The Australian Chinese Buddhist Research Centre (ACBRC), the Australian Oriental Media Group and the Australia Oriental Media Buddhist Charity Association organized a large-scale cultural gala at the Hurstville Entertainment Centre on 31 July 2018 to celebrate the 8th Anniversary of the ACBRC and Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day.  Nearly 1,000 people attend this magnificent event, including Buddhist clergy, friends, and spectators from all over the world, as well as over 70 dignitaries such as local politicians, Chinese community leaders and artists in Sydney. ACBRC’s president, Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu, also attended this epic cultural performance.

Dr Hari Harinath, Chairman of Multicultural NSW, and Ms Le Lam, Emeritus Mayor of Auburn City, gave special thanks to the ACBRC for its years of contribution to promoting Buddhist culture and a cohesive multicultural society in their speeches. They praised the great influence of Buddhism’s wisdom on humanity. ACBRC’s Vice-President, Venerable Shi Xin Wu, expressed his gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva. He said ACBRC will be committed to carrying forward Chinese culture and the essence of Buddhism, and promoting charitable activities.

The evening event was composed of four parts. It began with a video introducing the origin of Buddhism, and its transmission and spread in China. The dancers from the Australian Oriental Media Group performed several dance pieces, including “The Thousand-armed Guan Yin Bodhisattva”, “Apsara”, Tibetan Dance, Xinjiang Dance, Peacock Dance, and “Girls from India”.  Artists from India and Thailand added variety to the already mesmerising programs with their splendid dance performances, tinged with Buddhist culture.

Famous Australian singers Jing Feng, Yu Bao, and many award-winning young singers including Anthea Chai, David Li, Haiyang Wu and Sophia Qi altogether took the audience on an emotional journey with their rendition of several popular songs, including “The Wonderful Words of Lotuses”, “Wu Kong”, “The Heart Sutra”, etc. Radio personalities from Australia Oriental Radio, such as Liu Jianping, Li Pu,  Zhao Lijiang and Jing Hua, gave the audience a sense of profundity and serenity with their interpretation of stories about Guan Yin Bodhisattva, and the recitation of the Words of Wisdom from Master Jun Hong Lu.

The Buddhist cultural gala brings together Buddhist philosophy and arts, showcasing the great charm of Buddhism. ACBRC will continue its endeavours to spread Chinese culture and the essence of Buddhism, and contributing to a cohesive multicultural society and a peaceful world.

Amazing Gala Show to celebrate the relocation of Guan Yin Citta New Zealand Chapter with surprising giveaways

On July 8, 2018, more than 500 Buddhist friends, neighbors, and local organization representatives gathered at Mt Eden War Memorial Hall in Auckland to celebrate the Guan Yin Citta New Zealand Chapter’s relocation. The gala was held just one day after the official relocation ceremony.

Since 2016, the Guan Yin Citta New Zealand Chapter has been at the forefront of the New Zealand’s communities in advocating for the core values of Buddhism by following Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu’s teachings. The relocation to a larger place signifies the fast growth of the Buddhist practice center.

At the beginning of the gala, the host from Guan Yin Citta said, “This is a very exciting time for Guan Yin Citta New Zealand Chapter. In just one and half years, we’ve grown beyond our expectations and moved to a new place. It’s a big step not only for Guan Yin Citta Chapter, but also for all the friends as well. We express gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Jun Hong Lu for the blessings and guidance on our way of practice. We’re grateful to all the Buddhist friends, local organizations and communities for their unconditional support of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.”

The performances were spectacular and full of energy. Started with the traditional Lion Dance, series of performances amazed the audience with no exceptions, including Tai Chi Kungfu Fan Dance, Chinese Qipao Dance, fashion show, magic show, solo singing, Peking Opera etc. Some of these performances were brought by local organizations and associations, such as New Zealand Tai Chi Martial Arts Club, New Zealand Peking Opera Club, and New Zealand Women’s Federation. After the performance of the sign language “Grateful Heart”, dozens of volunteers from Guan Yin Citta took center stage and performed a chorus of “A Verse for Guan Yin” to express their sincere gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva.

During the gala, some lucky attendees participated in the promotional drawing and received surprising gifts from the giveaway. The winner of the drawing harvested a valuable pearl jewelry set, including a necklace and a pair of earrings. In addition, the event provided free vegetarian meals for everyone in attendance. Volunteers donated their time and prepared the food with a lot of heart and soul put into.

In the late afternoon, the gala was wrapped up with the Sichuan Opera Face performance, receiving immense applause of the audience. Most attendees pinned high hopes on Guan Yin Citta New Zealand Chapter for its future development in this new location.
