On October 6, 2019, a new Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center opened in the city center of San Francisco with a grand blessing ceremony. It is the fourth practice center in the San Francisco metropolitan area and the only one located in the city center. Its opening marked the culmination of eight years of concerted efforts and Dharma propagation in Chinatown. This area has a high population of Buddhist friends who have been practicing Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door since Master Jun Hong Lu’s visit to San Francisco in 2014. Master Lu’s Dharma Talk inspired many of them and changed their lives. The opening ceremony attracts hundreds of Buddhist friends from adjacent areas and eastern coast, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, Chicago, New York, and Canada.

The blessing ceremony started in the morning and incense offering was provided to the public afterwards. Long lines of people waiting for the incense offering extended out of the center. And the atmosphere is full of joy and happiness. After the incense offering, a free vegetarian lunch event was held at a restaurant in Chinatown to treat all the guests. Delicious meals were served and video clips from Master Jun Hong Lu’s Dharma Talks were played for the attendees. The three story restaurant was fully packed with crowds, which was quite a spectacle. During the event, some Buddhist friends shared their real life experiences of overcoming life difficulties by practicing Guan Yin Citta Door. Some volunteers performed fantastic choral singing and won a big round of applause.

Volunteers in San Francisco bay area will continue work hard together to spread Guan Yin Citta Door to more people. It now opens seven days a week and free to the public. Welcome to the center to start a new journey of life!

On July 28, 2019, Canada’s third Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center grandly opened in the largest city of Quebec province, Montreal. It marks a big milestone for Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door in its fast spread in North America. To celebrate the magnificent event, over 100 Buddhist friends and volunteers from US, Europe, and other places of Canada gathered together at Montreal and spent a memorable day. The Sunday morning celebration includes a blessing ceremony and a free vegetarian event. Quite a number of local residents also attended the gathering and expressed their best wishes to the new Buddhist practice center.

Since the very first Buddhist Practice Center established in Toronto, Canada, the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door has been spreading and flourishing in the country. Master Jun Hong Lu, the founder of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and the world-renowned Buddhist teacher, has visited Canada four times to give inspirational speeches and Dharma Talks to local people. His visits caused a sensation and aroused many people’s interests in learning Buddhism. The opening of the third practice center continues Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door’s Buddhist philosophy: bringing together a sense of compassion, selfless dedication, and the great strength of relieving the suffering, and will commit to promote Master Jun Hong Lu’s Buddhist teachings.

The blessing ceremony officially started at 10:00am in the morning. With the chanting of Buddhist scriptures in chorus, the six figures of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Nanjing Bodhisattva, Tai Sui Bodhisattva, Guan Di Bodhisattva, Zhou Tsang Bodhisattva and Guan Ping Bodhisattva were fully blessed and worshipped by Buddhist friends and practitioners. After the ceremony, free vegetarian meals were served and many local attendees consulted about the details of the Buddhist practice. And the volunteers were patiently answered all their questions and recommended learning materials to them. A tranquil atmosphere of peace, harmony and joy prevailed in the center and everyone could feel Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s blessings from above.

Great thanks to all the volunteers for their selfless dedications and hard work. Wish the Guan Yin Citta Montreal the Pure Land in the world of the Five Turbidities and bring people brightness and hope.

This October 27th, 2018 was the Renunciation day of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, which falls on the 19th day of the 9th lunar month to honor Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s great compassion and great mercy to the world. On such an auspicious day, the Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Center in Nagoya opened with an extraordinary blessing ceremony. The opening of the Buddhist practice center marks the third location of Guan Yin Citta in Japan and demonstrates its rapid development. The very first Buddhist practice center opened in Tokyo in August 2016, and the second in Osaka a year ago in September 2017.

Many Buddhist friends and practitioners from Tokyo, Osaka, and Shizuoka fully supported the establishment of the Buddhist practice center and attended the blessing ceremony at 10am. It was a beautiful Saturday morning when the weather became cleared and the sun came out after the rain. The sun’s rays made their ways through windows and shined on everyone, creating a holy atmosphere of solemnity and inward peace. Everything was ready for the great moment. By sincerely chanting Buddhist scriptures and performing a series of rituals, the enlightened beings were invited to enter into and reside in the sacred statues. The six figures of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Nanjing Bodhisattva, Tai Sui Bodhisattva, Guan Di Bodhisattva, Zhou Tsang Bodhisattva and Guan Ping Bodhisattva were completely blessed and worshipped by Buddhist friends and practitioners. Everyone attended the blessing ceremony was filled with fullness of joy and peace.

Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu, the founder of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, has ever said, “The Buddhist Practice Center of Guan Yin Citta is a Pure Land rooted in everyone’s heart. If you feel unhappy, miserable, or have difficulties in life, you can come here to recite Buddhist scriptures and calm your mind. You can sincerely praying for the blessings and protections from the Bodhisattva. Where the Bodhisattva resides is where wisdom exists, and bad affinities dissolved.”

Today, the Buddhist friends and practitioners in Nagoya finally have such a spiritual home. The person who is blessed by the Buddha is the happiest, just like a child who has the love of a mother. The brothers and sisters of Guan Yin Citta in Nagoya will unite together and work harder to spread Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. Such is the best way to repay Buddha’s kindness.

To commemorate the Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day, a Grand Blessing Ceremony was recently held at Fuyan Huguo Zen Monastery in Yilan, Taiwan. On this blessed day, the official opening of a new Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door Buddhist Practice Centre was also held. Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door has been in Taiwan for many years. Under the leadership and guidance of Master Jun Hong Lu, the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door has propagated quickly over the past few years. Since 2013, Master Jun Hong Lu has given two large-scale Dharma Talks in Kaohsiung and Taipei, with 5,000 to 10,000 people in attendance. A number of major cities including Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Taitung, Kaohsiung, Taoyuan, Keelung, and Chiayi have established Guan Yin Citta Practice Centres, serving as the spiritual homes for many Buddhist practitioners and friends. This new centre in Yilan marks a major milestone for the development of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door in Taiwan. On this day, more than 500 Buddhist abbots, monks, practitioners, and friends from Taiwan and all over the globe attended this magnificent ceremony.

The Grand Blessing Ceremony started at 10am and was conducted in the open space area of the Ruyi Hall. This ceremony was hosted by Venerable Shi Hong Rong, the abbot of Fuyan Huguo Zen Monastery in Yilan, and Venerable Shi Wei Fang, the abbot of Ru Yi Temple in the United States. The ceremony involved chanting of Buddhist scriptures followed by a series of rituals. Statues of Shakyamuni Buddha, Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Nanjing Bodhisattva, Tai Sui Bodhisattva, Guan Di Bodhisattva, Zhou Tsang Bodhisattva, and Guan Ping Bodhisattva were blessed and then worshipped by the attendees who were present at the ceremony. An atmosphere of solemnity and reverence pervaded the area during the entire blessing session.

After the blessings, the two abbots and Venerable Shi Xin Jing, the abbot of Guan Yin Hall of Wisemans Ferry, Australia, delivered their speeches respectively. They commended the establishment of this new Buddhist practice centre in Yilan, Taiwan, as being an auspicious outcome for not only the local people, but also all Buddhists worldwide. Thanks to the blessings from Bodhisattvas, the full support of Master Jun Hong Lu, and the hard work of many dedicated people, the entire ceremony progressed smoothly.

The Fuyan Huguo Zen Monastery was built way back in the 1961. Each year, a seemingly endless stream of pilgrims comes to worship at the monastery for the past 50 years. Now, with the establishment of the new Guan Yin Citta Buddhist Practice Centre, visitors can experience even more spiritual benefits when visiting the place.

In the afternoon, the guests were treated with the screening of touching videos showing Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu’s Dharma propagation activities around the world. This was followed by Master Jun Hong Lu’s introductory Dharma messages for the people of Taiwan. Since 2015, Guan Yin Citta Practice Centres in Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Taichung have organised four large-scale Buddhist charity events, with tens of thousands of attendees having come to experience their vegetarian delicacies. Dozens of small-scale events have also been held in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Chiayi, Tainan, and Yilan. The objectives of organising these events are to promote the core values of Buddhism, traditional Chinese culture, and to advocate for a compassionate vegetarian diet that brings immense benefits to our health and environment. These activities have always received great recognition as well as positive feedback from the local communities.

Hopefully, with the new establishment of the practice centre in Yilan, Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door will continue to flourish across Taiwan, and make more positive impacts on the society. In this way, more people can start to practise the Buddhism way of life and to begin applying the wisdom of Dharma into their daily lives to improve and change their destinies.

On July 7, 2018, a grand relocation ceremony of Guan Yin Citta New Zealand Chapter was held at Geenlane, Auckland. The new home marked a milestone for Guan Yin Citta New Zealand Chapter in terms of its growth and development since its opening in November, 2016.

Buddhist Master Jun Hong Lu, the founder of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and Chairman of both the World’s Parliament of Religions Foundation and the Australia Oriental Media Buddhist Charity Association, was invited to attend the celebration and blessed the Bodhisattva Figures at the brand new Guan Yin Hall. It was a landmark event for Buddhist practitioners from New Zealand and around the world.

After the Blessing Ceremony, Master Jun Hong Lu delivered an inspiring speech to the crowd at Guan Yin Hall. He said, “While living in this world, it’s crucial to liberate the mind. The blessing performed today is to turn the Guan Yin Hall into a holy place and provide it as a home to everyone. It is a practice center equivalent to those existed at the time of the Buddha. It’s also a Pure Land rooted in everyone’s heart. If you are feeling unhappy, miserable, or having difficulties in life, Guan Yin Hall is your retreat. You can stay here reading the Buddhist scriptures or sincerely praying for the blessings from Bodhisattva. Where the Bodhisattva resides is where wisdom exists and bad affinities dissolve. That’s why no matter what happens, we need to seek refuge in the Buddha and Bodhisattva for the blessings and protection. Although many people go through their life by acting smart and cunning, ultimately they become the victims of their own cleverness. Only relying on the blessings and power from Buddha and Bodhisattva can our fate be changed. ”

In the afternoon, a grand “World Buddhist Friends Meeting” was held with attendees around 1000 from New Zealand and other places of the world. During the meeting, Master Jun Hong Lu provided answers for over 30 questions related to Buddhist practice. Some Buddhist friends from New Zealand shared their life changing stories by practicing Recitations, Life Liberation and Making Vows. One of the friends luckily avoided car accident, and the other one recovered from cancer and created a medical miracle. The gathering is such a huge success that a broad and calming shade of Dharma joy permeated the whole place.
